Garden Inspiration News

St. Paul's Hostel

Garden Inspiration will again be working alongside St Pauls Hostel for the homeless, Worcester this Spring following the building of the courtyard garden last summer.

The kitchen garden will transform a derelict bank of waste ground that has a superb south facing aspect into a productive kitchen garden and orchard area.  Working alongside residents of the hostel Garden Inspiration will transfer real landscape and horticultural skills to help and encourage others who might like to get more involved with the industry and improve their own employment chances.

Pictures show the land as it is now and the intended design.

Visit us again to see how it turned out!

RHS Malvern Spring Festival 2018

Garden Inspiration is excited to design and build it’s first show garden at the RHS Malvern Spring Festival 2018 following the success of achieving Best Festival Garden at the 2016 Show and Silver Guilt Medal.
The garden has been designed by Christian Dowle and will be entirely constructed and planted by Garden Inspiration with grateful support from associated landscaper Paul Redgewell.

The Dew Pond is a vision of future gardens that are sustainable, productive and conserve biodiversity in a small step change to counter the effects of global warming. Water and sunlight are ‘captured’, stored and used in a completely sustainable cycle. Dew ponds are rooted in our agricultural heritage and this one will provide a rich habitat for wildlife that can be enjoyed relaxing on the deck or from the shelter of the garden room - all constructed using locally managed timber (timber supplied by Guy Tustin, Ast Wood, Herefordshire).
There is a small orchard area with old fruiting varieties and a woodland backdrop using Silver Birch, Purple Hazel and ground level Anemones to reflect the natural canopy found in our woodlands.

We would like to thank the following companies in anticipation of their material support in the garden:

RHS Malvern Spring Festival 2016

‘The Water Spout’ garden , designed by Christian Dowle and constructed by Garden Inspiration was awarded an RHS Silver Guilt medal at the 2016 Malvern Spring Show.  It was also awarded ‘Best Festival Garden’ and was featured on BBC Gardeners World and West Midlands Today.  The show hosted an unprecedented 100,000 plus visitors.

The garden was based around a local water spout with a pool and stream and seating gazebo.  Planting reflected the Malvern Hills soil type and local plants.
